We wrote about a guy who, like Marco Reus, left his beloved team after more than a decade with the intention of winning trophies. Harry Kane has yet to win a trophy despite deciding to end his loyalty to Tottenham and move to Munich. Reus was not quite as big a player as Kane, but he could certainly have had a more trophy career.
During his 12-year stay in Dortmund, Marco Reus managed to win two cup trophies and three times lifted the Super Cup winner’s trophy, which means that he never managed to win the Bundesliga. It will most likely stay that way because he should move to the USA and slowly bring his career to an end there. Marco Reus earned his status as a legend in Dortmund through loyalty, not winning trophies.
While Borussia Dortmund was a stopover for many players, Marco Reus chose to be a legend of this club similar to what Francesco Totti was for Roma fans. Marco Reus was born in Dortmund and played first for the junior categories of this team before moving to Rot Weiss Ahlen. Then follows a move to Borussia, but from Mönchengladbach, where he stayed for three seasons, with which he managed to win the Champions League in 2012, but the following season was followed by a return to his beloved team. Immediately after returning to Dortmund, Marco Reus played with his teammates in the final of the Champions League, in which Bayern Munich was still better.

He experienced 80,000 fans chanting his name in rhythm, which cannot be boasted by a large number of players who wore the yellow and black jersey.
For years, fans of the popular “millionaires” have watched many talented players leave Dortmund, but Marco Reus always stayed. No Borussia fan will have anything bad to say about Marco Reus and many former players of this team certainly do not have that status. While many players were leaving to collect titles and get even more lucrative contracts, Reus was collecting the reasons for which he would grow into a Borussia legend. He is fourth in the number of appearances and second in the number of goals scored. Gotze, Lewandowski, Gundogan, Sancho, Dembele, Hummels, Haaland, Bellingham left in search of success.
Marco Reus himself expressed his regret that Borussia was not able to keep the best players, because in that case they would be at the very top of European football, where they would chase the highest goals every season, although they will play in the Champions League final against Real Madrid in two weeks.
