The UEFA Euro 2024 Group D competition will begin on June 16, and the Netherlands and the winner of the UEFA Nations League playoff will face off in the early afternoon in Hamburg. The Netherlands won the only title of European champion in 1988. Still, in the last few Euros, they had disappointing performances, so the performance in Germany will be an opportunity to make a result worth mentioning after a long time. The second match within the first round of UEFA Euro 2024 Group D will be played a day later than the previously mentioned match, and Austria and France will meet.

That match will be played in Dusseldorf. France had two great performances at the last two World Cups but disappointed their fans at the previous Euro as Switzerland eliminated them at the start of the knockout stage. At this Euro, they will start against Austria, who did a great job in the qualifiers and, together with Belgium, got through that qualification group without any problems.

Austria will resume the UEFA Euro 2024 Group D competition against the winners of the UEFA Nations League play-off four days later in Berlin. On the same day, but in the evening, two national teams that have already met in the qualifiers will meet. The Netherlands and France and this match could potentially decide which national team will be ranked first in this group. France defeated the Netherlands twice in the qualifiers, so we’ll see if the Netherlands can take the lead from the world champion at the Euros. This match will be played in Berlin.

The last round of UEFA Euro 2024 Group D will be played on June 25, and the Netherlands and Austria will meet in Berlin. These two national teams played against each other at the previous Euro in the group stage, and then Holland was better than Austria. At the same time, France will play against the winner of the play-off in Dortmund.

UEFA Euro 2024 Group D Stadiums

UEFA Euro 2024 Group D matches will be played in five different cities, and only two matches will be played in Berlin. The competition in this group will be started in one of the largest European ports, Hamburg, where the draw for the upcoming Euro was held. The first game in this group will be played at the Volksparkstadion, which will host slightly more than 51,000 fans for this occasion. HSV plays its matches at that stadium, which has been trying to return to the Bundesliga for years, but has failed.

The European champion from 1983 always starts the season in a good way, but in the most important moments, he falls in form and cannot return to the elite society in Germany. In addition to the Hamburg match, UEFA Euro 2024 Group D will be played in two other cities whose most famous teams are currently playing in the second league. One of them is Dusseldorf, and in that city, the matches will be played at the stadium that is the home of the most famous team from that city, Fortuna. The matches will be played at the Merkur Spiel Arena, accommodating around 45,000 spectators.

Dusseldorf is the only city that did not host the 2006 World Cup and this will be the first major competition to be held in Dusseldorf. Berlin will be the only city to host two matches in UEFA Euro 2024 Group D. The matches in Germany’s capital and largest city will be played at the Olympic Stadium, which hosted one of the most controversial Olympic Games in history in 1936. Hertha, which currently competes in the second league, plays its matches at that stadium. The Olympic Stadium is the largest at this Euro and will accommodate around 75,000 fans.

The final of the upcoming Euro will be played at that stadium. A large number of fans will also be present in Dortmund, since one of the matches in this group will be played at Signal Iduna Park, and the capacity will be around 65,000 seats. One of the UEFA Euro 2024 Group D matches will also be played in Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena and that stadium will receive almost 43,000 fans for this occasion.
